I recently visited the acclaimed West Kowloon Cultural District and was overwhelmed with the offers of great outdoor scenery, less expectedly however, I discovered innovation projects in the fields of Technology!

I started off my quick visit by taking a walk through the Art Park – fantastic outdoor walk with harbour views.

Solar fitted to the vending machines, we love this!

This beautiful blue piece of architecture serves as the air filtration system.

While making my way past the gardens and trying to identify a patch of red fig trees planted by the groundsmen, I stumbled accross the famous Autonomous Car!

West Kowloon is committed to providing cultural facilities that are accessible for everyone. As we move towards completing our venues, we are trialling a new form of completely autonomous, zero-emissions vehicle that will help visitors navigate the district.

The driverless electric vehicle operates on a fixed route within the Art Park and is free for use by all park visitors. Fully equipped with sensors to identify traffic and road signs and detect everything in its path, it offers an environmentally friendly mobility solution that interacts safely with pedestrians, small children and pets.

Passengers can board the vehicle at any of the boarding points marked on the map below.

All in all a great way to spend a Saturday, I would definately advise anyone who has not visited to do so!
